(8:30 p.m. Wednesday.) Hey gang, I'm heading out to the garden store tomorrow to buy these here flowers for my backyard......((((RECORD SCRATCH!!!!!!)))) this post had to be cut short last night as I became overcome by crud!
(5:27 p.m. Thursday afternoon. ) You all know that Marshall has had the crud. My nephew Abram gave Marshall the crud. Marshall gave me the crud. Mother had the crud before she arrived here so all she has now is a nagging cough. Last night Marshall and I thought we were going to die. Okay, that's too dramatic. Imagine yourself in bed, trying to cough up crud and blowing your nose until it just wants to come off. You start to feel that the room is so hot and humid, yet the air is set for 69 degrees. Imagine yourself having to leave your husband in bed and beat a hasty retreat to the sofa for some peace and quiet because you think you just can't stand the coughing, wheezing and sneezing anymore. Then you realize once you're alone in the living room, that it's you as well that is doing all the coughing, wheezing and sneezing. You start to feel that you are strangling. Your albuterol spray is not doing it's job. You go back to the bedroom and throw yourself in bed only to hear your husband babbling something about wanting to go outside and kick the back porch light. Is he delirious? Is he in the throes of a raging fever? He opens his mouth to speak but all that comes out is "wheeeeeeze!" Oh, oh!
By now I'm thinking, dear God, I have to get us to the doctor! We both call in sick...he's been out for a week and neither Marshall nor I has had one good night's sleep. I've been out for three days. We call our beloved physician who sees both of us and they tell us to get there as fast as possible. We drag ourselves to the shower and get ready and we are on the road in less than twenty minutes. Poor mother, she was so worried but she stayed behind because we didn't know how long the wait would be since we were just dropping in and Dr. H was going to be leaving early today.
The results:
Deanna: Bronchitis, Tonsillitis, Ear infection in right ear and asthma.
Marshall: Severe Bronchitis and asthma
The Meds: Zpak, stronger Albuterol, Singulair, Cheratussin with codeine and a brand new Nebulizer.
Can you throw in a pickle and a side of mustard with that?
Mrs. Black Thumb will be attempting a magical trip to the Home Depot Garden center on Saturday . Stay tuned.
Vicks on your feet really works!
Love you,
Mr. and Mrs. Crud Cakes
